Metacomposition for a minute of Karlheinz Stockhausen's Kontakte.
When a musical score is being performed, the musical outcome is always diffrent depending on various circumstances like the individual musicians and the place of performance.
Using Max/MSP I created an installation in which the computer outputs audio towards 2 boxes placed in two opposing corners, aimed towards the center of the room. A microphone catches the sound in the room and inputs it back into the computer that again analyses and then visualises aspects of the sound. The visualisation changes upon the presence of audience and background noises.
