Kunstenaarsinitiatief Paraplufabriek in Nijmegen is a gallery, bar, stage and provides workspace for artists.
Having a squat history, the Paraplufabriek stage part has a name in the punkband clubscene.
Because of more governmental control on allowances for galleries like these, Paraplufabriek needs to expose itself to the audience more. To accomplish this, they attracted seven young artists which curate six different expositions during the upcoming months under the name 'Straalstroom'. One of the curating artists asked us to participate, mainly focussing on the website and 'announcements' for the changing exhibitions, but also about the setting of the space itself.
Considering the Paraplufabriek's history, and with that also the nature of the 'Straalstroom' project, we get a lot of freedom developing this.
The project is in a constant state of change, depending on each of us feeling like making changes, reacting upon each other or the on-going exhibition.
