Apollo mailbox

In 1970, the spacecraft Apollo 13 set course for the moon. After the explosion of an oxygen tank halfway destroying most of the craft, the crew had to return to earth in the moonlander. In this moonlander was not enough oxygen for the crew to make it all the way back to earth.
On earth, in the Houston control room, engineers overnight assembled a CO2-filter with supplies available in the moonlander. They transmitted this to the crew who reconstructed it. It was their rescue.
Design the manual for this 'Apollo mailbox'.

After a (too) long time where I couldn't set myself to 'just decide something', I took one of the objects in the spacecraft (not used in the manual itself) which I found interesting; the oscilloscope.

This device is able to produce Lissajous curves which construct an interesting grid. Using this grid as a starting point, I made a sketchbook for the design of a manual to be displayed on a oscilloscope.
This approach is a bit of a workaround, so I took the opportunity to design my own typeface and icons used for the specific 'Mailbox' manual.
