Interactive route

The route from school to a certain place.

I started assembling everything I found on the ground, took pictures every so many steps, documented traffic signs, electricity booths, lanterns, street art, structures, buildings, windows, etc.

I redirected my research from the analog towards the digital, and tried finding everything possibly available on the web about this school and it's surroundings. After this gathering of digital information, I realized that I was exactly doing the same I had done before, but now in a second layer of reality.
At this time I had been reading some Beaudrillard which I thought was of great use to this project, and I considered Google as a tool for the 'hyperreal'. Searching for images of something you might know, haven't seen before in 'real life', but knowing how to search for it.

From this thought I constructed a website, based on Google as a source of hyperinformation. On the background, the Google Earth satellite image of the route, and as a layer over that, the 25 first searchresults on 'Onderlangs Arnhem' decreasing in size towards the middle as they are lower in Google's searchresults, on the other side from 'Oude kraan Arnhem', also decreasing, the other way around.
They follow the actual route to be walked.
